Mingo was arrested and taken to the Tarrant County Jail in Fort Worth. “Mingo turned himself in on his own initiative after consulting with his counsel,” according to the department. “He has been released from custody after posting a bond.”
According to TMZ, Mingo’s bond was set at $25,000 and he was freed the day after he was arrested.
In a statement, Mingo’s attorney, Lukas Garcia, termed the charges “completely baseless.”

“Our side has very limited information at this stage,” Garcia added. “What we do know is that these allegations are untrue and date back over two years. Mr. Mingo has been the victim of a false claim, which we believe is motivated by money or another factor.”
The Atlanta Falcons also released a statement, “Our organization became aware of the allegations involving Barkevious Mingo today and are currently gathering information on this incident. The Falcons take the allegations very seriously and will continue to monitor the situation.”
