Pam Reeves is the widow of late NFL coach Dan Reeves. He is a former NFL star who served as a head coach for multiple teams in the franchise, Dan Reeves reportedly passed away at the age of 77, on the morning of January 1, 2022.

He is born in Rome, Georgia, Reeves was brought up in Americus, Georgia, where he attended Americus High School and participated in baseball, football, and basketball.

Dan Reeves, the former National Football League head coach and Dallas Cowboys running back, has died. He was 77.

Reeves died early Saturday at his home in Atlanta “due to complications from a long illness,” according to a family statement.

Reeves died “peacefully and surrounded by his loving family,” the statement said, adding, “His legacy will continue through his many friends, players, and fans as well as the rest of the NFL community.”

Reeves compiled an overall 201-174-2 record over 23 seasons as a head coach for the Denver Broncos, the New York Giants, and Atlanta Falcons between 1981 and 2003.

“We’re heartbroken to learn of the demise of Ring of Fame Head Coach Dan Reeves, who led us to three Super Bowl appearances” in 1987, 1988, and 1990. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.”

In 1993 and 1998, Reeves was named Coach of the Year. In 1999, he led the Falcons to their first Super Bowl victory. His sides were defeated in all four games.

Atlanta Falcons owner and chairman Arthur Blank stated Reeves “leaves a tremendous legacy in our game as a player and coach” in his own statement.

“His track record of accomplishment over several decades in Dallas, Denver, New York, and Atlanta speaks for itself, indicating a long and successful life and career in football,” Blank added. “On behalf of the Atlanta Falcons, I would like to express our sympathies to Dan’s family and friends during this difficult time.”

Before becoming a coach, Reeves played with the Cowboys for eight seasons, reaching two Super Bowls and winning Super Bowl VI against the Miami Dolphins in 1971. In 100 games, he rushed for 1,990 yards and 25 touchdowns and caught 1,693 passes for 1,693 yards and 17 touchdowns.

After his playing days were ended, Reeves became an assistant coach for the Cowboys, competing in three more Super Bowls and winning Super Bowl XII against the Broncos.

After negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys, Reeves became a consultant for the team in February 2009. This role was short-lived, however, as it only lasted two days before Reeves turned in the keys to his office and left. Reeves and the Cowboys could apparently not reach conclusions as to Reeves’s role with the team. In the days following, it was revealed that the dispute came down to a contract clause specifying the number of hours per week to be worked, which Reeves deemed insulting.
