Bears coach Matt Nagy is fired after yet another poor season.

The Chicago Bears announced on Monday the firing of head coach Matt Nagy. According to Kevin Seifert, Nagy had been the Bears’ coach since the start of 2018.

After barely surviving the previous season, Nagy couldn’t afford another losing campaign. But after starting 3-2, the Bears went on a losing streak that included some heartbreaking losses, and calls for his dismissal grew louder.

It was reported that Nagy was fired on Monday morning, a day after his third season as the Bears’ coach ended. That’s an astonishing fall from grace for someone who appeared to be off to such a promising start.

Nagy finished with a 34-31 record during his four seasons, but he didn’t improve enough to merit a fifth season after a season-ending loss to the Minnesota Vikings, who fired coach Mike Zimmer on Monday.
