Who is Emma Sarley? Age, Husband, Family, Wedding, Net worth, Wiki, Bio, White Girl found After Racist Slurs to Black Man

Emma Sarley is accused of yelling racist slurs in a Brooklyn dog park, telling a black dog owner to “stay in their hood.”

Emma Sarley is well-known for allegedly speaking in a derogatory manner about a dog owner.

The owner of a black dog and his fiancee claim she told them to “stay in our hood.”

The assaulted man Frederick Joseph captured the video after the lady had just hurled racial obscenities.

After the video was posted on Twitter, the incident was rapidly picked up by the social media world, and people have been talking about it all day.

Only a few people have spoken out in support of the lady, despite the fact that many have spoken out against her.

Some even offered her a job if Emma was fired, stating that she was alone in a pitch-black room and was defending herself.

Here’s everything you need to know about the incident and Emma Sarley, the lady, in the heart of all the talk and debate.

White Woman Terminated After Allegedly Telling Black Man Walking His Dog to Stay In His ‘Hood,’ Maintains Comments Weren’t Racially Charged

After being accused of asking a notable Black author and his fiancée to stay in their hood while out walking their dog in a now-viral video, a New York white woman has lost her job and apologized.

On Saturday, Sept. 25, Frederick Joseph posted on Twitter about an interaction he had with a woman who has now been identified as Emma Sarley. “At the dog park in Brooklyn with my fiancé, this white woman threatened to call the cops and told us to ‘stay in our hood’ because she mistook our dog for another dog that was barking loudly,” wrote the author of “The Black Friend: On Becoming a Better White Person.”

He continued, “So I started recording and she tried to slap the phone out of my hand.”

“In our hood?” Joseph asks the young woman, who appears to be somewhat inebriated, in the tape, which begins in the middle of the exchange near McCarren Park in Williamsburg. “No, no, no, no, no.

Sarley’s comments are slurred before she raises her middle finger towards the camera. She reaches for the phone but inadvertently knocks it from Joseph’s grip. “Do you want to stay in our neighborhood? “Stay in our neighborhood,” Joseph insisted several times. “Excuse me, but what?”

Sarley, perplexed, then exclaims, “Oh my God!” Did you just say something like that to me? Sh-t.”

Joseph and his fiancée, Porsche Landon, said, “You just instructed us to leave the dog park and stay in our ‘hood.”

Sarley was sacked from her position as an account executive at Bevy, a virtual conference firm. Derek Andersen, Bevy’s co-founder, and CEO confirmed that an employee had been fired, but declined to name Sarley.

Twitter Reply

“@BevyHQ has zero-tolerance for discriminatory behavior of any kind,” the CEO stated on Twitter. An employee who acted in a way that went against our beliefs was fired the day before yesterday. We sincerely apologize to everyone involved.”

Sarley wasn’t the only one who faced blowback. Sarley’s punishment was deemed severe by several internet critics, including New York Times Magazine journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones, a major anti-racism figure in the country.

Following the confrontation, Hannah-Jones chastised Joseph for his zealous search for Sarley’s identification in order to ensure she was punished. She remarked on Twitter, “This didn’t sit right with me and does not seem like an ethical use of one’s position.”

Joseph has been accused of faking racist charges in the past, and he was even at the center of an Airbnb issue in which he attacked the firm and a host after discovering “apparently demonic things” throughout the property where he was staying. The charges were refuted by the host, who described them as “unsettling and odd.”

Sarley has subsequently issued an apology, saying she “absolutely” accepts responsibility for “how I could have handled things differently.”

“I had no intentional racial implications in my comments,” she said in a long statement, noting that it was a “unwritten rule” at that specific park that owners should take their unruly dogs away.

“I completely realize how my remarks could have been misconstrued, and I really regret not choosing them more carefully. A fleeting and careless time in my life has now resulted in widespread outrage and hurt. I apologize for that.”

Statement from Emma Sarley

“I am still processing everything that has happened over the last couple of days and thought it was important to share what I saw and experienced. I absolutely accept responsibility for how I could have handled things differently at that moment.

On Saturday evening, I watched a dog get into several aggressive altercations with other dogs at my local park, and as the owners of this dog were leaving, I suggested that they keep a handle on their dog while visiting this particular park. My reference to “back to your hood” only referred to another dog park outside of this neighborhood park.

I was frustrated and upset, but to be clear – I had no intended racial undertones in my comments whatsoever. I said it because it’s an unstated rule at our local park that when a dog is being aggressive, owners immediately remove them so it can be a calm, welcoming environment for everyone else. However, I fully understand how my words could’ve been interpreted and I deeply wish I had chosen them more carefully.

I want to clarify that I never threatened to call the police. I never went on a tirade. As the dog owners followed me down the street with the phone camera on, I was filled with some panic because I’ve never been in an altercation like this and reacted in an inappropriate way. That’s what you witnessed on that tape.

I’ve lived in New York City for a decade, my Brooklyn neighborhood and dog park is extremely diverse, something I truly love about this city, and I never meant for my words to contribute to pain for anyone. I truly hope we can find understanding and a peaceful resolution to this, for everyone involved.”
