Funeral for Tragedy Victims, and Mourning the Loss of Chace Harrison and Addison Stewart
On New Year’s Eve, separate funeral services will be held in Tasmania’s northwest for two 11-year-old victims of the jumping castle tragedy at Hillcrest Primary School. Family and friends are encouraged to attend and wear specific colors to celebrate the lives of Chace Harrison and Addison Stewart.
Chace Harrison, remembered as a much-loved big brother and son with a “cheeky grin,” will be farewelled in Devonport at 10.30am on Friday. His parents, Teresa and Craig, expressed their heartbreak in a tribute, stating that their love for him will always remain unchanged.
At the same venue, Addison Stewart’s funeral will take place from 1pm on Friday. Mourners are invited to wear aqua or green in honor of her short life. Donations to the Devonport Dogs’ Home are encouraged as a tribute to her memory.
The funerals for schoolmates Peter Dodt, Jalailah Jayne-Maree Jones, Jye Sheehan, and Zane Mellor have already taken place in previous weeks, while more than $1.4 million has been raised for the families through an online fundraising page.

To support the community, the federal government has committed $800,000 to counseling and support services for the region. Additionally, the Devonport City Council is collecting tributes left outside the school to create a permanent memorial.
