In connection with the police’s search for his missing wife, Walshe was detained on Sunday and charged with misrepresenting the investigation. Prosecutors asserted at his arraignment on Monday that he lied about leaving the residence in the hours and days after Ana was last seen.

He said that on January 2, he merely left the house to take his son for ice cream. Home Depot security cameras recorded him buying around $450 worth of materials.

According to court filings, Brian Walshe made a cash purchase at Home Depot while sporting a black surgical mask and blue surgical gloves. According to the police, he purchased mops, a bucket, and a tarp.

Following the execution of a search warrant at the residence on Sunday, the police reported finding blood and a bloody knife in the basement.

“These various statements caused a delay in the investigation, to the point that during the time frame where he didn’t report his wife and gave various statements, that allowed him time to either clean up the evidence, dispose of evidence,” the prosecutor said.

According to Brian’s defense lawyer, Brian has given his agreement for searches of his home and cellphone.
